Asus Prime z270-a not detecting cpu fan

I have an Asus prime z270-a and a cryorig h5 universal cooler, the fans on the cooler are on and spinning but the motherboard doesn't tell me the RPMs and I have no control over it. i tried updating bios and that did nothing.

How have you connected the cooler to the board's fan headers?

Its plugged into cpu fan, That was the first thing I checked.

On the motherboard you usually have 2-3 fan or chassis fan connector and 1 or 2 cpu fan.

you have # 3 top is cpu fan
but also a gpu_cpt while # 3 on the left side is for water pump.

Theres two heads one above the other, and I had it plugged into the wrong one.
