Which one? I would use them for gaming I would be playing the division and the Witcher and other hard to run hardcore games please help out

I'm not disputing that AMD have an advantage with DX12 games because they do; at least for the moment. This is down to the GCN architecture, which is more suited to parrallel scheduling, whereas Nvidia concentrated on serial scheduling, which was more prevalent in DX11.

The Witcher 3 and The Division are reported to support DX12, but that's not confirmed. The Witcher 3 obviously has DX11 support and I wouldn't be surprised if The Division offered both DX11 and DX12. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if DX11 was still supported by the vast majority of games for the next few years.

OP, do you have to buy a new GPU now? You may want to consider waiting for Polaris and Pascal.
The GTX 970 and R9 390 trade blows at 1080p and 1440p. Which is the better performer comes down to the specific game.

Given that the GTX 970 is on a level playing field but has significantly less power consumption and heat than the R9 390, it's the one I'd go for.

Another consideration is that AMD tend to get screwed over when it comes to big AAA titles on release day. It's not fair, but it is what it is.

Never go for 970 gtx..... You can find Youtube Benchmarks google Why not to go for 970.... In dx 12 390 is better then 980 LoL that's why, and 390x wipe the floor on every nvidia card out there only gtx 980ti Clocked stronger

See for yourself.

Like I said, both GPUs trade blows and it comes down to the individual game.

i have to agree with you... But you ( not you i mean everyone ) have to be mentaly retarded and be blind to not see the facts that Nvidia is cheating company, Imagine Dx12 is out and it's way better in everything but no we will use old tehnology just to suit Nvidia... Haha i mean that's slowing down the tehnology, Anyway Nvidia by Gameworks slowing down tehnology.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5CA6KE6mSY .

P.S i also suggest wait for new Gpus at the mid of the Current year 2016

You can read i wasnt teling you things... Only to the ppl who have closed mind and eyes.... if you are among them then it's your problem. Anyway go buy Nvidia especially 970 Gtx 3.5 Vram ( is the future ) and cry me a river...

very true for dx 11 titles until now. But times are changing my friend . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHhPOvlnLGM rise of the tomb raider , far cry primal show a slight edge in favor of the 390 and at FHD resolution. Its a good trend since it will help destabilize the monopoly of NVIdia . DX 12 is already in favor of AMD . nvidia will gain the lead again sometime , but i dont think the 900 brigade will be in the pack. Only pascal might shift the edge back to nvidia again, if it does.

Your intentions are good but your tone is not. Mr bicycle_repair_man is open to discussion in a peaceful manner and i would also request you to do the same. both of you have some very valid points , no reason to go aggressive.

Nvidia was always a cheating company , but the point of using dx 11 is not to suit NVidia. It is to suit the older generation of graphics cards which do not support dx 12 since a major market share would be using old cards , and no company wants to cut its customer base just by limiting game usage to DX12 . Current games often let u choose amongst dx 10, 10.1 and 11 , not because of AMD or NVIDIA but to favor people with older graphics cards.

I wholeheartedly agree, nobody wants Nvidia to be the only game in town, and DX12 is AMD's chance to gain traction. The GTX 9xx series will typically lose out in DX12 games due to serial scheduling in the Maxwell architecture. When Pascal comes along later in the year, Nvidia may very well have the upper-hand yet again, so AMD need to jump on the advantage they currently have.

Competition is good for us, the consumers.

You Cant know mine tone.... Im writing.... Nvidia do a lot of stuff and it's still leading Gpu company i mean that's so stupid... They have Game works wich write code in favor of Nvidia to sabotage AMD cards... That's why AMD created Mantel to by pass that stupid Game works code... Btw in tomb rider they have steal AMD TressFX hair... god know what els they do and still.

P.S nope they dont do that coz a lot of ppl still have dx11 cards.. they do not have Performance or architecture for DX12... IF that's the case why 700 series Fall so bad in performance? coz they dont care for Old Gpus that's the filosofy of Nvidia... Sabotage your Old cards so stupid ppl buy new ones... 270x-280x performe better then 780 gtx .. cant imagine lower 700 series.... :S
