Hi every one,

I have a problem. I was given a Asus rampage II extreme with 3x2gb Kingston hyper X 1600 and a 1gb Asus grafics card (don't know more about the gpu)

I powered it all with a corsair vs550 but I can not star the pc it starts to boot and immediately powers off. One time it got to show on screen the rog symbol but immediately powered off again.

I m noob to this OC thing and I can not find the solution.

Yes I cleared the CMOS and it does this.
if I power up the psu and press the power it does nothing. Only after clearing the CMOS it shows some life... Fans start to spin and the automatically stop again. The previous owner didn't use it for a long time but it was working

One more clue. If I leave it with the psu powered and leave it resting for a while it then stars and the start up there's is a message saying that NB is overheating then it starts and powers of just before entering Windows. If I try to start it right back it doesn't go as far...

I can't really see if it's loose, but it seems off that there are thermal pads coming out of the heatsink (they may have shifted). My advice - take it off by unscrewing it. Then reapply the thermal compound (you can go to a PC hardware store and get thermal pads). Then reapply the heatsink, carefully screwing each screw a bit, then the next one, then the first one a bit more, and so on.
