[citation][nom]danimal_the_animal[/nom]Asus Problems is plain and simple. They need to find a way to sell their netbook with a ~10inch screen that has a resolution of 1366x768 and comes with nvidia ion graphics for 299.99THAT will kill the ipad for sure![/citation]
And it has to have equal or superior battery life...

Netbooks look cool, but they are crap, once a person tries it out, they most likely will never buy one again, especially since they are over priced, as you can get a decent laptop for the same price.

Saturate the market much Asus? Silverthorn isn't any faster than Diamondville which itself isn't much faster than the Dothan chips used in the first generation. I don't see all those early netbook adopters swapping up if they have a decent size screen.

I now have an ASUS 120IN Netbook which is a great 12inch netbook, but I do hate the name and branding ASUS has chosen for their ATOM line.

ANything that is named only after vowels like Eee, sounds ridiculious and also sounds like its getting squashed! Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

[citation][nom]jimmysmitty[/nom]They are already in the maiking. Intels next step of Atom will have dual cores and a integrated IGP capable of playing Doom 3. Not impressive compared to discrete but impressive jump.It will also be able to run full 1080P.Once thats out we will see a flood of non Apple based touch pads that will probably be better and Netbooks that are worth their price.[/citation]
Ugh as for your comment, there are Dual core atom netbooks and ion's out, I have one, just look the ASUS Eee PC 1201n. Its a great desktop complimentary/backup PC.

My two cents is that for $500 you can get a full size laptop. Unless you really need the portability why buy a netbook? As far as the tablets like the iPad. I think its more of a hype created interest in the thing. I still am not convinced it will replace much of anything.

The atom is as slow as a granny with a walker, the neo is being put in tops costing $500-$600 and even the atom netbooks are over $300. Asus lost their sight just kicking out bigger better screens with everything and consequently jacking up the price of their product during an economic slump what they need to dp is get back to basics on there machines and sell them at the sub $400 market. That's what made their lineup take off and that's what they need to do again. Just take the little ssd, bump the capacity to 160gb (who gives a care aboutb outright speed just make it big, it isn't gonna get blammed by joe user if the drive is slower than a wd raptor) slap in 2-4 gigs of ram and a sub 11" screen. It'll sell like X at a rave, I gaurentee it.

now all these stupid company have to learn tht if you give people bad design and ugly screen with tumor battery, when something better comes along, everyone will run away from your company, these netbooks design are soooo freakin ugly I think only apple care about how something actually look.

Some of us don't stare at our laptops trying to justify the $1200 pricetag with "well it arouses me with it's whiteness"

I said it before and I'll say it again, netbooks are just a fad. Most of the people who bought them had no idea that they are different than a laptop. They just believed they were getting a really good deal on a ultra compact laptop.

This is something I seriously don't doubt.

But it's because Apple has a thing for marketing.

You can never pry me away from an actual keyboard(phones included).

And don't get me started on the FEEL of mechanical keyboards :)
