I am about to tear the PC down to do a water loop build anyway, but this code 00 is annoying. This is the third time so I am done with this motherboard.

So.... What is the best mobo right now for PC gaming? I assume AMD X870E? I already have a Ryzen 7950X3D and a PCIe 5 m.2. I have been planning to stick with this until AM6, but Asus can eat a bag of week old sweaty *, so I could switch to Zen 5 if the 9950X3D has something worth the upgrade.

Anything that isn't ASRock and Asus...so you're left with Gigabyte and MSI. You can get away with a B850 chipset but look for a well designed VRM area on the board.

What sort of a budget have you allocated towards your motherboard purchase? Where are you located? What is your preferred site for purchase? Are you eyeing an ATX motherboard?

If you want to troubleshoot the motherboard, have you tried reflashing the BIOS on your existing motherboard?

I thought that ASRock was essentially rebranded Asus, so I was surprised to see people talking them up. I don't have a budget. I doubt that anything will be able to utilize PCIe 6 or additional PCIe 5 lanes when Zen 6 drops. All I really need is ATX, PCIe 5 M.2, PCIe 5 x16, 2 DDR5 native 6000 slots at least 96GB, and WiFi . So probably any 870E mobo.

I’m using MSI x670e gaming plus WiFi. It’s not an expensive board, the reason for getting it was the surplus of USB ports. With the latest bios it’s been 100% stable. There was a glitch earlier when coming back from Windows updates and the forced reboots they caused. This has been cured.

4 NVMe slots, PCIe 5 for 1 of them and GPU slot. .. not saying it’s the best but it’s good for the price.

Holy hell... What makes the Godlike worth $1000, just the M.2s and USB ports?

There are no CPUs that can run both PCIe slots at x16, so that is useless unless something else is coming. Even then, for gaming you're only going to benefit if you are running an M.2 5.0 RAID card and a GPU.

Maybe it will work with DDR6 and PCIe 6?

I think I like the MSI MPG X870E CARBON. I am pretty certain that I will have to upgrade the CPU to take advantage of the full native speed of the RAM, but I will dig into those specs. By the time I have this going, hopefully the MSI Suprim SOC 5090 will be available at MSRP. I might be willing to go for the Asus Astral if it is available at MSRP and the MSI isn't
