Hello everyone. I'm finalising the build for my next high end pc, so now after case and fans, I'm reeeeally torn between the maximus VIII hero alpha and the gigabyte gaming 7 motherboards.

Fanboy 😉

ASUS are high quality but they're on par with GIGABYTE.

Choose what you prefer the look of. I think Gigabyte's skylake selection is the best range of motherboards out there and you will NOT be dissapointed in what you order. Either way they're top quality boards but as a personal thing I prefer the asthetic of the Gigabyte.

Another motherboard to look at could be the EVGA classified.
Ill buy the g1 1080 card, always bought them from gigabyte. But do you mean it would perform better on a gigabyte motherboard then ?
Whats really the difference between the two ?

no i didn't mean that at all , asus is always the better choice when it comes to motherboards , but a gpu could be a bit different , gigabyte has better fans for cooling and it could really matter , at least when you look at the fans spinning you don't get the feeling you get with asus , i had a gigabyte gpu an hd 6750 i think about 4 years ago , and it does have superior fans

but there are always computer shops where they take off your fan and replace them with liquid cooling , even in my country

They are both good motherboards, what fits your color scheme best? Lol. I've read tons of reviews and benchmarks in both and I can't decide either. I'm in the process of building a rig almost identical to yours except for case/fans/optical drive and not sure exactly what aftermarket 1080 I'll use leaning towards the strix

Yeah, I unfortunately have become very fond of EVGA recently (with exception to the power supplies). They have such high quality in such a competitive price and their customer support is just unreal, I sound like a fanboy but the company ethics of EVGA are insane and they blow my mind consistantly especially with the new case they have previewed.

It's good but not quite as high quality as the Gigabyte or ASUS (I think)

to compare the 2 it seems MSI do have better software however.

Though I personally prefer the look of the Gigabyte board but I guess at this price point it's more personal preference
