Hi guys I'm buying a new 1080 to for mi setup and I wanted to know if there were any kind of requirements for it. I don't know how powerful my PSU needs to be. Apart from that I wanted to know if I need a specific motherboard (Wich I've never heard about). I have an I7 4790. My PSU is 700W. Don't know if I need to change anything for the new graphics card.

Thank you all guys.

The stated requirements are 600 watts and 35 amps, but you need to keep in mind that is total system power, not just the power the GPU draws. Think about it, it would be ridiculous for them to say what wattage you need for the GPU itself, because the average customer wouldn't know how to translate that to total sys power.

You also need to know that the wattage part is very conservatively stated because PSU wattage to amperage ratios vary by efficiency of the unit based on build quality, and they don't know how good a PSU the customer has. Most 600w PSUs have more like 40-50 combined amperage on the 12v rail/rails...
Being a very powerful card you might be surprised that the actual recommended power is 250W. Now keep in mind that's only for the graphics card alone, they recommend at least 600W but higher is probably a good idea. I believe 700W should work just fine.

Lastly, all PSU capacitors age over time and lose as much as 10% of their power output. All these reasons combined, along with the fact that too much amperage never hurts, while too little can damage parts, is why they list such things conservatively.

Get the latest Nvidia drivers from Nvidia then go to Asus and download gpu tweak 2 and aura LED software, aura controlls lighting and gpu tweak 2 is like Asus afterburner.
