I was planning my build on pc parts picker and got a potential incompatibility issue with the front USB ports and the motherboard. Is there any way of fixing it or should I go for a different MoBo ?

  • Note: A USB 2.0 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required.
  • Note: A USB 3.2 Gen 1 to USB 3.2 Gen 2 header adapter is required.

You will see on the left a usb 3.1 type C connector which is the fastest usb; this is not supported on the motherboard for the socket on the front of the case. Refer to page 1-2 of the motherboard manual...

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Are those notifications coming up on PCPartPicker? That board is lacking front panel type-C header. You can change the board to one that has front panel USB Type-C connectivity or a case that lacks front panel Type-C connectivity.

However there is a usb 3.1 type C connector on the back of the motherboard; see item 7 on page 2-14. So the question is how much does having a working type C connector on the front of the case mean to you.

If you still want to use that motherboard and have a empty pcie slot you could also use this add in card to power the usb c port on the front of the case
