The Asus ROG Strix version of GTX 1080 is already in Amazon India, where the same is in "Pre-order" stage in Europe.

How did an Indian seller get his hands on this model so soon?

I enquired locally. The Strix won't ship until mid-June. They aren't actual pre-orders either. They're just sellers price gouging without even having the product in hand!

It is stupid, however you can start to get them now. I actually was lucky enough to get it when it was in stock shortly last Friday at newegg.com for $679.99. I should have it Tuesday.
