SPECS :

Mobo - Asus Sabertooth 990fx 2.0
GPU - XFX R9 280x
CPU - AMD FX8350
PSU - 600W Corsair 80+Bronze

I am a new builder and I am having issues with my build. Everything turns on, the gpu fans spin, the psu works, the chassis fans spin and the cpu heatsink fan spins.

However, I am having several issues;

- There is a constant red CPU light on the motherboard
- There is no display on my TV
- No BIOS beep codes
-No POST

This problem is really frustrating me as I just want to get the PC up and running and play my games! 🙁

PLEASE HELP!

Solution
Take everything off the mobo. Take the mobo out and re-mount it into the case. Plug the psu into it and thats all. It more than likely has a speaker. Listen for a beep. If it beeps your mobo isnt doa it might just have had a short. It happens.
Well - the good news is your MB is getting power. That is what that red light is for.

I would suggest simplification and testing. What I mean is to remove everything but the bare neccesities - then test and see if you can add more items. It helps to isolate the issue.

Since the board doesn't have video - you will want to keep the video card in place. Also keep the PSU and MB/CPU. Unplug your SATA and remove your memory and any other peripheral you mihgt have.

Verify all of your power connections (including those on the video card) and power up. Report any results - and try to add additional items (Memory one stick at a time, HDD, ect.)

If it fails - the problem is in something you have connected.

Thanks for the reply. None of this worked unfortunately, still the same results. With just the cpu connected i get the same red light. I noticed on Amazon where i purchased that someone got the red cpu light on arrival as well and found that it was a DOA motherboard. Do you think that could be the same problem with me?

I've tried that too, nothing is working 🙁. I'm taking it into a specialist store tomorrow as they have spare processors etc to test and see what is wrong. My guess is the mobo was just DOA
