Asus Sabertooth 990x CPU LED, no boot

I just recently changed from a Zalmann heatsink to a Corsair H80i and after hooking everything up and turning my rig on, the red CPU LED turns on and doesn't post. I realize I ruined something in the conversion process and would just like to know if I need to replace the MOBO or the CPU...

If starting the board, only CPU and CPU fan (the stock one) connected, both 24 and 8 pin power cables attached, still red CPU led?

Yes the red CPU light is still on

Have you checked the CPU for bent pins?
If no bent pins, then hard to say if board or CPU. Can't you RMA them both?

My friend brought over his test CPU and it works, so I think it is safe to say it is the CPU. Thanks for your help.
