Asus Sabertooth x58 RAM compatibility

I recently got G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) from newegg. When I installed it in my machine, it wouldn't completely boot up and the red LED RAM light stayed on. I followed the instructions in the manual and so I'm sure I installed it correctly and in the correct slots. I tried pressing the Mem OK! button but nothing happened either. Am I missing something or is that RAM not compatible with my motherboard?

Things I've tried:
One stick - didn't work
Two sticks - didn't work
Using my old ram - worked before and after I tried the new RAM

Boot into BIOS and set up the RAM first. Also, the MB is looking for three sticks for triple channel hyperthreading. Make sure you have the sticks in the right slots for only two sticks.

Do you have the latest BIOS?

You may need to try this kit:

G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL

The one you have is dual channel so it may not have the necessary profile for that X58 triple channel motherboard.
