The card has been tested in a different system, and has been proven to work fine, and the current system runs with a different GPU connected. When the card is plugged in the system boots using the Intel integrated GPU, the GTX 1060 is not detected at all, does not show in device manager.

Motherboard BIOS has been updated to latest version (A9).
PCI-E Slot has been tested with multiple other PCI-E cards (GPU and Non-GPU) and works fine.
1060 has been tested in different PCI-E Slots with no luck.
Multiple PSU's Tested with no luck.
1060 tested in a different system and works fine.

My assumption is that there is a conflict between motherboard and GPU as they both work independently of each other, a bios update has not been released since the GTX 1060 launched.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Current Spec:
Intel Core i5 6600K
MSI Krait Gaming Z170A
16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHZ (2x8GB)
ASUS Strix GTX 1060

It was initially in with a 1kW Novatech PSU, which was swapped to a 450w Corsair to ensure that wasn't causing the fault.

What video cable are you using?

With the 1060 installed and when it does what it does (no video) try powering off/on the monitor and reconnect the video cable as well, in any order while PC is on.

May need to use PEG only in Bios and then try above again.

Gpu not being detected in device manager might be because there is no display on monitor. As with here; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=265451.0

Only shows Intel HD in device manager, yet all he ended up doing is re-plugging the video cable, now how does that work lol?

Silly computer things. Hope is as simple for you.

I tried it with both DVI and HDMI (in both HDMI ports), and unfortunately reconnecting the cables while the system was powered on didn't make any difference.

I checked and the BIOS is already set to using PEG as well.

Have you tried without screwing the gpu to the case? Maybe try put pressure on the card slightly into the slot then power up the PC while still putting pressure. Back of the Pcie slot, it locks in properly? If a size difference in cards to the previous just check nothings protruding ever slightly.

So i've just given that a go, and no combination of pressure or lack thereof makes any difference in the slightest.

I've also sent a support ticket to MSI, just to double check that there's no incompatibility with the BIOS or anything.

The Bios has been reset, and the cable was plugged into the GPU when the PC was turned on. After there was no display, the cable was swapped to the motherboard and the computer rebooted the system displayed fine. The Intel Integrated is being used even when the 1060 is installed.

I did not use an adaptor, the cable was DVI on both ends, and i knew that Nvidia use DVI-D ports on their cards. I also know that it needs an 8 pin connector.

The BIOS setting is currently to automatically use an installed graphics card where possible, and to only use integrated when no other option is present. there is no option to completely disable the integrated graphics in the BIOS settings.
