Asus Strix GTX 1080 Performing below expectations

Hello.

I have an Asus GeForce GTX 1080 DirectCU III Strix Advanced Gaming Aura RGB 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-E which up until now I felt was a really good card...however the last few days of testing is making me wonder if it isn't performing how it should be.

Case #1

Unigine Heaven benchmark, returns a score of around 2700, but their online leader boards tell me it should be coming back with around 4600.

Case #2

UserBenchmark delivers inconsistant results for the GPU portion of the test. One time it will say it is running ok and the next it will say below expectations.

I can provide more info if asked...on the face of it, do I need to be concerned? Do I need to check the way everything is set up?

Check temps and make sure it's not throttling. If it's being stressed extensively and the temps reach 85+ it's probably running too hot and throttling itself. Also make sure your drivers are updated.
 
Your Heaven score is fine, those 4600 scores are for massively OCed machines.

My GTX 1080 gets 2904 - 1080p EXTREME Settings.

User benchmark is iffy at best.

Run 3Dmark Fire Strike and Time Spy.
 
Thanks JalYt_Justin, Temps seem ok, Heaven has an OSD and I've been watching the temps/clock speeds and throttling isn't the problem.

Thanks jankerson, I will have to re-run the 3d mark tests as I've only got scores for an SLI (Using an OEM 1080 reclaimed from a ZooStorm). I'll come back to you on that.

Firestrike returned 17655
TimeSpy returned 7077 , eventually. It took 4 attempts before it would run, kept CTD as soon as it finished loading the first test. Never had that before. (I did have EVGA Precision XOC running when it crashed, ran once I exited it, so not sure if that was the cause)
