Hello
I want to buy a new graphics card an upgrade from my gtx 660 (RIP) to one of the latest graphics cards.
After a lot of research i have come to the decision of buying a AMD RX 480 8GB instead of another Nvidia, but the thing is i cant decide from one of this two cards.
I have read good things about of them but i want to get more information about them before i buy.
Two great decision factors for me is the cooling system and performance without overclocking, i live in Tijuana, Mexico and in summer the weather tends to get really hot, about 42.2 ºC (107.96 ºF) so overclock is out of the question for me and to be honest i dont like it that much.
I know the ASUS strix has 3 fans vs 2 fans of the XFX so i think Asus wins in this one on cooling but how it handles in performance?
Does the XFX is better and it doesn't struggle with heat or they both have similar performance and is just a matter of the cooling system?

Extra question:
Which one do you think is easier to clean?

Solution
Hi pancho64,

In terms of cooling I´ll go with Asus, his DirectCU cooling system has show great performance over the years and I’ll run a bit cooler than the XFX

About performance booth will perform almost identically, the difference bitewing them is about 10Mhz to 14Mhz so no noticed in gaming performance there
