I recently changed motherboards

I have ddr5 corsair vengeance 32gb 6000 mhz when I turn on the computer it stays on code 55 when I have 2 sticks of ram in but when I take 1 stick of ram outland try again it boots up fine. I looked at my cpu cooler corsair h150 elite capillary and don't anything wrong I tried other ram and it did the same error code 55 tried another board same thing different cooler same error code 55 could it be cpu itself. I was upgrading from 12900k to 14700k
That's the only thing that I changed. Any ideas?

did you update the bios to version ?

reset the bios afterwards without enabling xmp
if this works, enable xmp again
if error again, run memtest
check cpu socket pins of the motherboard if bent or discolored

I've found the ram sockets with only 1 clamp on the right side can be tricky. Sometimes I really have to look closely to make sure the dimm is fully seated on the left side of the socket. And with my latest build it took a lot of extra pressure to make sure the dimm was all the way down on the right side to get the clamp fully engaged. So I've been suggesting that people use a bright light and really look closely at how the dimm is seated to avoid code 55 problems.

How am I supposed to update the bios if it won't boot up

I took the memory out and reinsert several times. I don't want to force it in once it clicks into should be in place

Can you get into BIOS then?

If not you can use the flashback feature of your motherboard.

Unplug CPU and RAM (eventually not necessary), only PSU and motherboard plus the BIOS file unzipped on an USB flash drive
press the flashback button and wait till it restarts
then power off and install cpu, ram again

14700K may well need a more current bios level to run properly.
If you can access the bios with only one stick, find out the current bios level.
If there looks like updates that are relevant are available, update the bios using the bios tools.

Changing motherboard will likely need updated drivers installed.

I can get into the BIOS but the BIOS was not updated so I updated the BIOS but it still doesn't work when I put 2 sticks of ram in the ram slots. I'l have to ake out the CPU and check for bent pins but I tried the ASUS Z790 MAximus Hero Eva-02 Edition and it did the same thing. I checked the website for memory compatibility and it shows my memory and the another memory that I have. So the memory is compatibility

I updated the bios to the latest version and still getting error code 55. I'm going to change the processor from 12900k to 14700k

Your symptoms are of a damaged pin in the cpu socket.
It is all too easy to do if you do not drop the chip in cleanly and need to wiggle it to get it seated.
Your motherboard will say which two slots should be used to get dual channel operation.

If you can, post some high res photos of the socket and perhaps we can identify the bent pins.
They can usually be bent back into position with a needle.
If you are working ok, run memtest. If you get NO errors from a full pass then you are ok.
Check dual channel operation with cpu-Z.

I was very careful with the cpu socket putting it in. I had 2 board to give the same error code 55. Now my corsair h150 elite capillax the box on the cpu comes on but the fans don't spin I have the power connected to sata and plugged into the usb header on the motherboard and it still won't come on

Just because a pc boots up, it does not mean that the ram is good.
Take the time to run memtest for a full pass with NO errors to be certain the ram is good.
If it passes, it indicates some sort of a slot issue.
Strange since you get the error on two motherboards.
Was the 14900K bought used, or from a less than authorized source?
13/14th gen products have been abused with aggressive overclocking, damaging them.
If you run OK with the 12900k, it suggests a processor defect and worthy of an RMA.
It should still be under warranty.

My dad upgraded to the intel 265 series and z890 and gave me 14700k to upgrade I tried two different rams that was compatible with the motherboards and it gave me the same error code 55. Apparently I'm doing something wrong

Perhaps it is not the cpu socket pins that are damaged, but, perhaps there might be a scratch or thermal paste on the processor pads itself.y
on two boards highly unlikely. I noticed the other day that when i turn it on it wa going thru a series of codes on the board and it seemed like it was confused. Seems to be a power issue to me. MY cooler fans are not spinning but my front fans are spinning. All of the fans are plugged in the commander core for corsair h150 elite capillax system. not sure if something is wrong with the commander core since the other fans are spinning
