Model Asus tuf A15 FA507NV-LP023W
I’m having an issue with my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop. One day, when I powered it on, it booted straight into the BIOS and asked for confirmation to update the BIOS. I confirmed the update, it completed successfully, and the laptop restarted. However, after the restart, the screen remained completely black—there's no backlight either.
The laptop does power on, the keyboard backlight turns on, and I can hear the fans running, so it seems to be working in the background. I’ve tried booting back into the BIOS to reverse the update, but the screen still shows nothing. I don’t currently have access to another monitor or PC, and resetting the battery didn’t help. I also held the power button for 30 seconds, but it didn’t make a difference. I opened the laptop and checked the connections, but no change. I was going to try removing the CMOS battery, but it seems my model doesn’t have one.
Interestingly, this laptop had performed a BIOS update in a similar way before, so it’s not the first time this has happened.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Apart from connecting a second monitor to check if there's an image, is there any BIOS reset option I might be missing?
Thanks for your help!
