I would hope so. It should at least be shipped with the newest BIOS firmware

The only thing holding me back is (of course) Ryzen. I bought my mobo and CPU from Amazon, and they will allow me to return them within a year, it is coming up to a year in March. Do I buy this? Or wait just before my warranty ends before I buy this board and stay with FX am3+?

'' It should at least be shipped with the newest BIOS firmware ''

no guarantees on that in any way that's a risk you take when a cpu is not covered under ALL bios's all you can be guaranteed is a board will have at least 1st release bios on it if nothing else

seems like gigabyte and asrock has released ''new'' 990fx boards that you may look and see that the chip is under first release

[example ]

AM3+* FX FD8350FRW8KHK 125W Vishera 4000MHz 2200MHz 2MBx4 8MB C0 All [the 8350 is supported under ALL bios's ] no hope so's

AMD FX-8350 4000MHz 1MBx8 8MB Vishera 32nm C0 125W 5200 F1

F1 is its first release also safe to work no matter right out of the box

Thank you for this, I have a GB board now and god, I have no had a good time.
I am a "audiophile" (kinda), the USB controller on board my mobo has a hard time managing power I guess
I have all these annoying latency issues with Audio and is just all round crap

(it is a 970a-ud3p rev 2)

I want to stay away from GB

Thank you again

Yeah, but FX CPUs are still really good, right? Ignoring obvious power usage and heat issues :/ xD

well, 1 point to gryffindor lol

I never knew, I guess it is the Skylake? or Kaby Lake?

like blackbird said there now a like what , 7 year old platform ??? 7 years in computer stuff is like 100 in real life

no point spending good money on the past today in my opinion . yes it still works , but you can see now there really showing there age and AM3+ is what drove me to intel for my first time in 16 years and cant say it was a wrong move in any way

maybe file server or office use but for a primary gaming rig with todays needs and demands I'd have to pass [opinion]

Yeah I totally agree, of course Intel are the Apple of the Android, they are so expensive compared to AMD. I will have to think about my budget and my primary uses. I do a lot of semi-heavy audio production. So, i need a somewhat powerful CPU, (already got a soundcard)

Thanks guys, coan't believe how many people replied within an hour, amazing. Love this forum

I use to think the same until I built my first intel haswell rig I could not beleave how I was suffering under AM3+ night and day

way more satisfied with intel and then at the time a 8350 was like $ 185 and this i5 4670 was 200 on sale for 184 ?? and smokes that amd performance and stability

even AMD's CEO stated AM3+ platform was a mistake

Ultimately AMD’s focus on new “growth areas” isn’t the culprit. What has hurt AMD is a big bet on a Bulldozer architecture — in which two CPU integer cores share a floating-point unit and other components — that simply didn’t work out. “Everyone knows that Bulldozer was not the game-changing part when it was introduced three years ago,” then-CEO Rory Read said at a Deutsche Bank event. “We have to live with that for four years [through 2015]. .

all you got from a 8350 piledriver modules are essentially revamped 'Bulldozer' cores. there just bulldozer family cpu's

Already using an FX 8350, coming up to a year, I have until sometime in march to get a full refund. Need to get a mobo and/or CPU sorted by then
