Hello guys. I'm having some questions regarding my gpu performance. As im not sure if its something wrong with it, or is it just normal... I'll explain. I have this card for about 2 months now, and it has been perfect on most games so far. Except i found out 2 odd things recently.
First while i was playing fifa 16, i noticed a gpu usage of 99% and a temperature 70º. Is it normal that usage? And about the temperature, i know the turbo version doesnt have a great cooler, i just want to know if its safe to run at 70º (its arround 35 when idle, and doesnt cross 65º on most games)

Second thing, i've been playing titanfall, and i have everything on high and very high, and i can run @60 fps locked with 2x MSAA and 2X TXAA. But if i turn it to 4x, both msaa and txaa fps drop to between 45 and 60. Is it normal? Especially since i saw some vids on youtube of people running with 4x and getting very close to 60 fps average. With same gpu and worse cpu's!

My current rig:

MSI Z170A GAMING PRO
Intel core i5 6600K
8GB DDR4 3200Mhz
Asus turbo GTX960

Yes i know. One of the best mid-range card tho.. right? I guess i should be able to play all games currently out there at at least med settings no? Thanks for the reply.

I was considering the Turbo when shopping for my 960. The few reviews available on it showed that under load Core temps creep up to 80C, with the VRMs reaching 100C. Not a very good card cooling-wise, I only recommend it for OEM PCs where space inside the case is limited and ventilation not that good.

The R9 380 4GB is admittedly better than the 960 due to it's extra 2GB of vRAM (The 4GB 960 is useless because of the 128-bit bus - click here for more info on that) but that doesn't mean it's unusable. With your setup the majority of games should do well on very high - high settings, with ultra being achievable too sometimes with good FPS at 1080p.

AA is very taxing on GPUs, and doesn't really contribute much to image quality. Turn it down and you won't miss much. Without GPU core clocks and temps while under load this is just speculation, but judging from the Turbo's tendency to heat up more than other 960s, it's possible that your GPU is thermal throttling when under load, and this is why you may be seeing worse performance with AA turned up.
