Question ASUS VG1A Monitor issue

I have had this monitor since last October and noticed that at random intervals I would have this bizarre artifact/screen tearing thing happen to it. When I first setup the monitors I set the refresh rate to 165hz but when it happened the first time I found that my solution was to reduce it to 144hz. Now it is happening again and I have tried everything there is to try.

I have swapped the cables, swapped ports from my GPU, I have updated my drivers for both my GPU and integrated graphics, I have factory reset the monitor, I should also add that I have two of these and the other one doesn't have any issues.

The issue only arises when I move a window into a certain place on the screen, for instance, I am typing this forum on the problem monitor with no issues what so ever, I should add that I can also play games with this montior and experience no issues.

Have you tried updating or reinstalling your gpu driver? Does it go away if you use the intel hd graphics?

I swapped my input over to my motherboard's Display-port Output and the problem still persists. I have updated drivers and am convinced that I am having a refresh rate issue of some kind? any thoughts?

I know it sounds stupid but try changing your background color settings in windows. Make sure your display adapter refresh rate for that monitor matches the windows desktop refresh rate.

For anyone experiencing a similar issue, if your monitor is under warranty, just contact ASUS.
