Question Asus VG248QE 144hz

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-53 and is there a way that I can connect a 144hz monitor to this. I have a GeForce GTX 1050Ti

If I am reading your laptops ports correctly you have a hdmi port. You can use the hdmi port but the hdmi cable may or may not be limited to 120hz refresh rate on the monitor which is hdmi 1.4 capable.

The VG248QE is limited to 60 Hz over HDMI.

So I just got the adapter and displayport cable today and I connected it and my monitor said no signal.

Did you plug in the USB for power? Did you switch the monitor to the correct input?

Yes I used that adapter and plugged the usb into my laptop and the monitor was on displayport and it said no signal. This is the displayport cable I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HVDMW2/ref=psdc_3236443011_t1_B01J8S6X2I?th=1

Try unplugging the monitor from power for a few seconds. If it doesn't work try disconnecting the adapter and plugging it in again.

You're sure all the cables are plugged in all the way?
