Asus vs Intel

Better for what?

Intel boards used to have a reputation for being more stable but poor overclockers - you know, the kind of board you would use in a computer you built for your mother.

For overclocking, I'd say Asus. But like aford, I also have a preference for Gigabyte motherboards. (Smart man, aford. :) )

Actually, if you chose 10 regulars at random from here, I think you would find 8 or 9 pretty evenly divided between Gigabyte and Asus with a slight bias toward Gigabyte and 1 or 2 two for other brands.

Hi my friend,

Thank you very much for your answer. I have a ASUS P5Q and is working very good. But you know, people always are talking. Someone tell me that Intel is better but other people say Asus. I have an 8 year-old computer with an Intel 845 and did a good job. Now I feel better with your comment. Thank you.

ASUS was known for it's fabrication integrity as the boards circuit were mainly etched than soldered. I don't know if they still do that, but that's what started me with ASUS. I use to work at a company that engineered and designed mainboards. I was only a tech but heard the engineers discussing the qualities in the RDA and drew my conclusions from them.
I know Intel is good but not as adventuresome as Asus or Gigabyte.

Asus , gigabyte , msi all are garbage motherboard . Intel is the best quality, THIS IS INTEL the biggest company int he world. Intel create cpu ,chipset... all other motherboard damage cpu because of their performance that is not stable. bad china product !!!

I have used both Asus and Intel® boards. Right now I have a high end Intel Board in both my home and work computers that I have overclocked on. In the end as others have said you can pick up a super rock solid stable mid range board from Intel or if you are looking for some top of the line overclocking and numerous features that you wont find on lessor boards.
