Greetings everyone,

I've recently put my system together and when I look at sounds under the Playback tab, it shows my monitor and under it, it says Asus VS228 High Definition Audio Device.

I disabled it. I looked at the description of this monitor and it does not have built it speakers. You can connect an audio device though as there's a sound jack slot. Does anyone know what this is? And will it conflict with my other audio devices?

I also have a problem with my computer booting up on my secondary monitor. Here is my other thread for those of you who may be able to help. Thanks

Solution
Hi
No it shouldn't interfere with anything. My Asus monitor doesn't have speakers and it shows up in my playback devices too. Not sure if it has an audio Jack or not but I've had it a couple years and has worked fine with my audio playing through the headphone jack of my case.

The ASUS VS228 device is the interface that puts sound through the HDMI port on the motherboard. Very useful when you use HDMI.
