I recently purchased an ASUS VS247H-P Monitor. I wanted to test the monitor so I took an HDMI cable and plugged one end to my laptop, and the other end to the ASUS monitor. The outcome was as expected, displays showing and everything. However, there is no sound output from the monitor's internal speakers. I've tried setting default device on the ASUS monitor. Here's how my audio manager playback tab looks like:

EDIT: I updated the picture because confusion arose when people saw speakers as the default device. As you can see here, the default device is now ASUS and there is still no sound.

I've also updated both my display adapters (Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 and NVIDIA GeForce GT540M) and my Sound drivers from the device manager. I've tried looking through the monitor options as well, and nothing seems to fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Open Control Panel > Sound >
Right click in the open area under your audio devices >
Check the "Show Disabled Devices" box, your disabled vs247 should re-appear.
