Does anyone with the 23" ASUS VX238 have any experience removing the grey stand the comes attached the back of the monitor?

Damn, I really need this thing to come off, it fits inside of my desk and cannot fit a stand at all, do you think debezzling the outside rim will allow me access to the stand screws and allow me to detach it?

So the bezzle you are referring to is the back panel? And that is removable if i can wedge a screwdriver through every side, and then just reattach good as new once i detach the stand?

sorry, disregard advice... I was looking at wrong model. There is no indication this stand is removable, or even wall mountable (if thats what you wanted to do with it) as it is not VESA compatible

This is a brutal solution which may be disastrous if you slip, because great force is required. Ripped off the screw threads by levering in the gap beneath the top of the stand. That will damage the plastic cover a bit. Removed the loose screws with tweezers. Drilled through the two highest holes in the stand to allow big screws, drilled through the plastic cover to make room for the screw heads. Vacuumed up the bits of metal and plastic caused by ripping off the screw thread. Tapped through the base support which is in the screen by screwing in 1/4 turns and loosening to allow the metal to come away from inside the hole. Vacuumed again. Screwed it on. It ain't pretty, but it worked for me.
I can provide pictures if anyone needs them.
