Hello guys i just bought my new motherboard asus prime x470 pro

and as i was lookin for the drivers i found that the chipset driver from asus and amd have a huge difference in size! and i think the amd drivers is the newest ones ..

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-X470-PRO/HelpDesk_Download/ 372,43 mb

and the other ones

https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064 65,3mb

i first installed the asus drivers because i found them first but after i saw the others from amd site and installed them both is this ok? do i will have a problem?

also in the future if a do a forrmat to my pc should i install only the chipset drivers from amd site? even if are much smaller?

Also i have one more question if i use an external gpu do i need to instal the vga driver from asus website or this driver is only the integrated gpus?.

PS.

after some research i reached a conclusion in my thoughts correct if im wrong

the drivers are from asus website (asus prime x470 pro)

vga (optional only if i use integrated graphics) i didn't install them because i use gtx 750

bios (recommended for optimal perfomance) i did the bios update

audio (requireded) i installed them from asus website (how i search for new ones? is the option from management device from windows 10 recommended ?)

Lan (requiered) i installed them from asus website (how i search for new ones? is the option from management device from windows 10 recommended ?)

utilities (optional) i didn't install them

usb (required) i installed them from asus website (how i search for new ones? is the option from management device from windows 10 recommended ?)

chipset (required) i installed them from asus website and then from amd too ( i think from now on only from amd site)

sata (only if u use raid) i didn't install them i have only a single ssd and an external hard drive

Its possible Asus will release an updated driver for your motherboard shortly once it has made the changes needed for the board that includes the new AMD driver. I would think AMD supply the necessary drivers to Asus and other motherboard makers and they would update the drivers when they are finished. Your board is still new, Asus will support it for a few more years I expect.

I would only use AMD drivers once Asus stop updating the boards themselves.

Its normally a good idea to grab chipset drivers from Motherboard web site as they may have custom features the default ones don't support.

One way to update all drivers on your Asus motherboard is to install AI Suite 3 which is in utilities. Run it and look on the EZ update tab, I believe it actually checks the drivers installed on PC and recommends new ones. Its preferably safe to use, just don't use the overclocking part of AI Suite, and maybe not update BIOS in windows (I would use bios tools for that)
