Question ASUS X556UB-XX039T Need help with upgrading to an SSD and more RAM

Hi, this is my first time posting here, so, my friend needs to change the HDD to an SSD , and also needs more RAM.
I´m not completely sure on what SSD or RAM is compatible with this notebook , though I also didn't find anything about the MOBO (only that it can go up to 12GB DDR3 and that's it...
Any suggestions are welcome !

i have asus x556uq, i upgraded it using cady and ssd. so i have two storages, the ssd is plugged directly into the motherboard and the hdd is plugged into the cady. also about ram i think max memory per expansion slot is 8gb. here are the official specs.
