Asus X55u won't boot, no lights, LCD, or anything

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by. So this laptop has been laying around for i have gotten a better gaming laptop. So after looking around i wanted to make the switch to ubuntu. I would prefer trying it on this old laptop without using virtual box or doing it on my main before getting used to it.It is plugged in. I do not know much about computers so i decided this site may be useful. I have reseated the hard drive and ram. What else could it be? Any help is appreciated!

Hi, verify your adapter, maybe it does not give any voltage to the laptop.
