[SOLVED] Asus X570 won't boot SSD

All components were working, the only thing I've changed is the CPU and motherboard to a ryzen 3600 and asus x570-plus. When I first booted, BIOS showed the SSD but would not allow it to be selected as a boot device. I then changed the settings to disable fast boot and enable CSM which then allowed the SSD to be selected as a boot device but when it starts it gives me an error "reboot and select proper boot device." I've tried everything from changing other boot settings to trying every single SATA port with no luck. Any ideas what I can do?

You need to format your SSD and reinstall Windows.

as mentioned above you need to reinstall windows before anything else to avoid any software issues that may occur

If I use bootable usb with windows do I need to format it manually? It should all be taken care of for me right

Yes it will ask you if you want to format during windows installation.
