Hello, as the title says, I want to know about how these two compare in terms of build quality and better quality components that last long (at least 4 years'ish).
I have compared features extensively and I don't have any issue regarding it, they both are acceptable. I plan to put an i5 6600k and interms of OCing, I might not want to go beyond 4.3ghz mark.... Thanks, urgent reply needed.

Both are good on quality actually they are best when it comes to quality components on-board.

I would recommend ASUS over Gigabyte. Because ASUS has better Software support than Gigabyte which makes OC on it very easy compared to any other board in the market.

To make it even simple.

Quality: ASUS=Gigabyte
Software: ASUS>Gigabyte
Overall: ASUS>Gigabyte

Thanks for the rep mate. I am wondering that quality might also vary from model to model rather than only manufacturer? For example the Z170 Deluxe seems to be very durable, all caps tied up straight, however on z170-a, components look a bit disoriented and a huge huge flex in the board, the I/O components at the rear also seems to be a bit tilted with respect to each other, (I have seem this in many pics), what your say on this?
Also by reading all this plz don't judge that I am inclined towards gigabyte, I just want my answers.
Also I miss typed the title, it is meant for asus z170-a vs gigabyte z170 gaming 5
Looking forward to your reply, thanks.

I have these 3 available:
Gaming 3 = $190 new / $160 used
Gaming 5 = $230 new (But I can get it by $180 by importing from USA)
Asus Z170-A = $165 new (Only one left otherwise it is $190 new) / $160 used

please explain where the ASUS Pro Gaming has better quality than the Gaming 5

and while we're on it:
PRO GAMING/AURA has better Sound Card.
is not correct either as both use the Realtek ALC1150. Asus SupremeFX is just softwarebased marketing.

also a few months ago there were several reported issues about the ASUS Z170-A's sound chip as there sometimes appears to be some interference when the GPU is under heavy load.

Furthermore I wouldn't say ASUS' software is better but it's easier and more clearly arranged.

anyway
from the choices you've listed, go and grab that last Z170-A board.
for it's better overclocking abilities, I'd pick it over the Gaming 3, especially for the same or less cash.

ASUS Supreme FX comes with fine tuning attached to it unlike basic ALC1150. That being the case.

Easier and more clearly arranged software is what I call being better.

To be honest as I said there is very small difference in ASUS and Gigabyte quality wise regarding the specific price range(they both are equal). Software support being different matter.
