I have looked around and couldn't find anything about the z170-S holding a solid white led for dram.

I have the g.skill ripjaw v series 16gb (2x8) plugged into the a2 and b2 slot. Everything I've read said this should be compatible.

This is my first time building a PC so I'm completely at a lost. Any comments or ideas to look at would be appreciated!

Cheers

If your motherboard is kicking out a memory error when you're using a compatible kit, then either the memory is bad or the motherboard's memory controller is bad. Either way, it's easier to start with replacing the memory, since replacing it causes the smallest change to system hardware configuration.

That is my motherboard.

I've tried putting them in the same colors (a1/b1 and a2/b2 as the book recommends) are you saying try a1 and a2?
