Asus Z270F Strix Gaming with with Windows 10 already on SSD.

Hi guys

I am going to upgrade my set-up from an Asus Maximus VI Extreme X87 with an i5-4670 to a Asus Z270F Strix Gaming with an i7-7700K.

I already have Windows 10 on a SSD, which I would like to boot from on the new set-up, but will that affect the performance in any way, since I want to make the best of the i7-7700K.

I am asking, because I am going from X87 to Z270 and I don't know if, when I upgraded to Windows 10 the system got connected/locked/or-even-a-third-option to the old motherboard.

even if it works there will still be performance problems. as already said, it is always recommended to do a clean install after replacing a motherboard. replacing a motherboard is like moving from one computer to a completely new one
