ASUS Z390-A and TridentZ compatibility

I'd love to know if these parts are compatible right out of the gate

i5-8600k

ASUS Z390-A

Gskill TridentZ RGB (f4-3000c16d-16gtzr)

I've already tried a ASUS Z370-A which resulted in a DRAM error. I assumed it was the motherboard because it was used so I returned it recently.

Returning the ram is going to be near impossible as it was a gift from a person that used a guest Newegg account and a now deleted email account.
