Hi
I have an Asus Z590-E with 11700 non-K and need to know the Intel's official default PL1, PL2, TAU values of 11700 non-OC to set in the mobo?
I guess the default Z590-E PL1 is set to 125 for instance so need to change them for 11700 non-K version.
Thanks :)

4th reply in the topic, by citay.

While citay uses i5-11500 as example, with is 65W CPU, your i7-11700 is also 65W CPU, so, PL1, PL2 and TAU values could be the same as well.
But the first option will always adhere to Intel, in this case (i5-11500) to 154W PL2 for 56 seconds Tau, then 65W PL1.
That should give you your answer, or at least, point towards right direction.

oc not possible with this cpu
OC and power limit are two different things.

Maybe OP wants to limit CPU power, to reduce thermal output.

Oops, but I think for 8 core variants, it should be 65 > 224 > 28

Anyone can confirm?
From one review i found (non-K CPU reviews are hard to find), i7-11700 peaks around ~225W or so.

(Scroll down until you see "Power Consumption - Cinebench R15 Multi Power Consumption - external Monitor").

So, putting PL2 to 224W wouldn't limit anything for i7-11700.

As far as TAU goes, there's little info about that.
What little i could find, is about i7-11700K;
This lower-binned chip will sit at around 225-250W (PL2) limit while the PL1 limit will be standard at 125W. The PL1 rating has a TAU duration of 56 seconds while the PL2 rating has a TAU duration of 2.44ms.
