I have the Asus Z97 Pro with a 4790k installed. I have employed the defualt XMP Bios, as I still don't have proper cooling to OC. Basically all of the settings are stock except for Ram Timing, and all cores have been synced.

If the computer is off, and I hit any key on my Keyboard (microsoft sidewinder X4) or any button on my Mouse (Logitech G502 Proteus Core) BOTH USB, the computer will start from a shutdown state and power on. Every time I bump my desk, or accidentally hit either device, my PC will start up at un-opportune times.

I have searched my Asus UEFI Bios, and cannot find a solution. I could certainly just disable both as a startup device, but then neither will wake my computer if I let it sleep (whic h I like to do)

How can I instruct my Mobo/PC (can't narrow down the issue) to NOT Boot my PC with Keyboard/Mouse interface, but ALLOW both to wake the PC sleep? I also don't want to unitialize them in Bios, since I have no PS/2 mouse or keyboard, so I need them active in UEFI before startup just so I can navigate the UEFI interface...

Is this a Bios option? If so, where can I locate it in Asus Z97 Bios interface. If not, What is causing this?

No man... I WANT it to wake the computer. Whats going on is that my USB keyboard and mouse, just by tapping a key, is able to start the computer up from a complete shut down state...
I still want to be able WAKE the PC with K+M when the PC goes to sleep, but not POWER ON the PC from its powered off state...

hmm... but when I completely shut it down it still does it... should I just disable Hybrid/hibernate mode in the powersaving settings and see if that helps? I'm already in High Performance, but I think hibernate mode is still off...(I'm not new to this, I just need some help snooping around in the right places)

EDIT: Hibernation is already disabled :/ what could make it boot up from a completely shut down state with the click of a mouse or the tap of a spacebar...actually ANY key... Hmm...

I don't know if you've found the cause of this issue by now, but I thought I'd post the solution for anyone else who's having the same problem, like myself earlier today.

I couldn't find anything obvious in the BIOS, so I disabled the 'Turn on fast start-up' feature in the shut-down settings. This has stopped my PC coming to life every time I accidently knock my keyboard or mouse!

I've got Z97 Pro and had this issue. General workaround seems to be either disable "Fast-Startup" from the shutdown settings of the BIOS, or disable the Asmedia USB 3.0 drivers that seem to keep them active when the PC is off with fast start enabled.

Personally, I just uninstalled the Asmedia USB 3.0 drivers, and your PC will default to Microsoft USB 3.0 default drivers. Works he exact same, you couldn't tell a difference (unless you use some of the USB features like fast charge or faster file transfer speed often)
No more starting PC by moving K+M, and I get to keep my 15 second boot speed.
