Welp I finally decided to hook my hard drives up on the ATA-100 port and sure enough my controllers got messed up. Before I start lemme list my specs:
A7V Motherboard "hah you knew it didnt you?"
T-bird 1000
1 IBM 60gb drive
1 Maxtor 30gb drive
1 Creative Labs cdrom
1 Plextor cdrw
Geforce
Ok so my secondary IDE controller is one with the yellow mark next to it. On that controller are both my cdrom drives so they are the ones that have vanished. My hard drives are on the primary controller and they are both here still. So I did some looking around and found out about that noide error in the registry. Hoping that would solve my problems I opened that biotch up and went looking for the value but my searched yielded nothing 🙁 The only 3 values under VxD\IOS were the following
Default - value not set
Start - 00
StaticVxD - IOS
Nothing noide related 🙁
Which means that something else must be the problem. I went and looked in my device manager under resources and it had this listed for my controllers
14 Via Bus Master PCI IDE Controller
14 Primary IDE Controller (dual fifo)
15 Via Bus Master PCI IDE Controller
15 Secondary IDE Controller (dual fifo)
Dunno does that look right to anyone?
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
Btw all my drivers are updated including the promise driver and all the viatech drivers. The only thing I didnt do was flash my bios and update it.
Also on a side note my damn floppy drive wont work either.....windows and bios see it fine but it just wont access a disk. My system locks up when trying to do so. But that is another story.......but could be related dunno.
Anyway thanks in advance
