Hi,

If I put my IBM ATA100 HD and my DVD on the same IDE channel (ATA100 capable), will this influence the transfer rate ?
Will my HD still be running at 100MHz ?

The data doesn't really travel at 100Mhz. probably a 25Mhz.
2bytes x 25Mhz = 50MB/s x 2(Ultra DMA)= 100MB/s. Of course again, no drives can achieve any throughput above 66MB/s so it matters little. What does matter is no data can be accessed from both devices at the same time when on the same channel should you run/install/etc an application that requires this, which will cause pauses and sluggishness sometimes..
