Athlon ii Max Memory Speeds?

Hi, i'm going to be building myself a new system for birthday/christmas, i'll be using a athlon ii x4 640 (Overlclocked), these are the specs:

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 - Supports upto 2000mhz memory
Nvidia geforce gtx280 1gb OC edition
FSP Bluestorm ii 500w


I was wondering i wanted to buy corsair vengeance 1600mhz 8gb, will the motherboard/cpu support this?

If the board states it will support up 2000Mhz memory, then DDR 1600 memory should be no problem at all.

4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory (Note 1)
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory modules (Note 2)
(Please refer "Memory Support List" for more information.)

The power supply by the way, I would go for an Antec its a better one for the same sort of price. plus as I read there is lack of a connector on the bluestorm PSU that could cause a problem. I suggest you read the review in the link bellow.

I already have the PSU, apparently it's 80plus certified and can handle SLI, but for the board, graphics card and other peripherals i'm running, it will be more than enough.

I got it for £20 too!

I just read online that the athlon ii supports up to 1333mhz ram, you can put 1600/1866 in it, but it will default to 1333.
