Athlon Overclocking

I have a Asus K7V mainboard
and K7 700 Slot A CPU ...
what is the easyist way to over clock the beast..
go to PC-133 or What ???
i currently have 320 MB PC-100 Registered SDRAM

Although you can try to overclock using increased fsb speed the most effective overclock will be with a goldfinger card.
This will require you to crack open the case which is kinda scary the first time you do it, I would recommend you look for some how to articles like posted at AMD Zone and elsewhere. Your results will vary I have o/c three 700s with results from 800 to 960. Good luck

I am another Slot A, 550Mhz Athlon user with a ASUS K7M motherboard. I have been trying to get a 'goldfinger' card but am having very little luck. I live in Leicester in England so any mail order company that will send us one would be handy to know. Do you know where I can buy one from? Is there good documentation for it on AMD Zone?

You can get a goldfinger in the post (freespeed pro) from www.overclockers.co.uk who are in stoke.I've used these guys mail ordering online and they are quick with good order tracking.If you need info try ninjamicros.com who make the card

Gold finger would be the easiest. Do you have any fears about opening the case of that slot CPU?

There's documentation around on the web, even right here at Tom's, that tells you how to build your own out of someting like $15 worth of components.
