I'm rebuilding an old dell inspiron 530, and I upgraded my case to rosewill ranger m, and upgraded my Psu to cx430. I also have a gt 630 4gb (upgrade in summer to gtx 660). Right now I am debating between msi a75ma-e35 and the h81-p33 and the x4 750k vs pentium g3320. If I get the athlon, there is nothing too much I can later to, but with the pentium, next Christmas I can upgrade my CPU to an i3 4130 or some i5. Will the g3320 be really slow, I currently have a core 2 duo e4440, and yeah. I don't have enough at the moment to get an i3 (I'm 13). Can you recommend the parts please.

A pentium G will be faster than your Core 2. A Haswell Pentium G would be roughly on par with an E8400 @ 4.0ghz. I would spend the extra $6 and get the Pentium G 3240. Gives you an extra 200mhz. Given how low end of a chip we are talking, I fell it is worth the added cost.

Foxconn g33m02, getting tired of that dell splash screen :/
I can get a whole new mobo and CPU next year via my parents

Yep, you are right. Fm2 vs 1150, the 1150 , the pentium will be a bottnwck for around a year, though. I can get the fm2, overclock it, and get a good motherboard and good CPU next year.

I'm a big fan of the AMD APU's. An A10 will cost you less than $150 and your good for just about any games out there including BF4 (not maxed out though) without a dedicated card. Then you can add a discrete card later and the CPU will handle it well enough.

I can buy my x4 750k, in 4 months buy gtx 660 , any next year but an fm3+ and a 8350 or a 7850k. I prefer dedicated in my purposes.

I agree Kavari was a letdown...hmmm....can you possibly spring for at least a haswell i3 cpu? Or fx 6300+ am3+ mobo?

the haswell pentium would be pretty stout, I just don't think it would do that good in current games like bf4,etc. For single player probably fine, but I doubt multiplayer would play that good

X4 and 290x runs bf4 ultra no problem at 1080p

avoid the pentium g3220, i have it and with my hd 7850 it is laggy on very game, even old black ops, get a quad core 750k, overclockable to around 4.2ghz.

Keep in mind that using both of these CPUs to game isn't ideal. That being said, I have to go to the G3220. Pentiums peform well given its $60 price tag(!). The Athlon II X4 750k will fare better in games but it doesn't have an upgrade path.

Haha, my upgrade path will be replacing the damn thing! Lol, keep in mind this is a temporary build (8-11 motnhs) just when I make the upgrade in end of 2014 I will get cx600 and an i5 and some nice asus mobo

Depends on how paitent you are with dealing with the Pentium's speed, or the lack thereof.

Its going to be significantly faster than your old Core 2 Duo, keep that in mind still.

New motherboards often mean the need for new copy of Windows as well.

Don't know if any of you are still around, but ended up doing a full rebuild :).

Nope, decided to go for a fx4300 and a ga78lmt-usb3. Now, I can later go for something like a 8320.
Fx4300 @4.1ghz
Hyper tx3
ga78lmt-usb3
2tb seagate green
buying a 120gb pny ssd in the next week or two
cx430 v2
rosewill ranger m (upgrading to a new case, probably to a coolermaster n200)
2gb asus 7770
Can you help me chose a 40-55ish $ case?
