I currently have an ATI 9700 128 mb card. Is it worthwhile upgrading to a 9800 Pro? Would I notice any considerable difference? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

I personally do not think it's a worthwile upgrade, the performance will be about 10-20 percent higher. If you do upgrade to a 9800pro, wait for the R420, it'll push the prices further down.

Btw, if i'm not mistaken there's a softmod in those Omega drivers which let you mod your 9700 to a 9800 :)

I don't think so.
A 9800 Pro is basically a higher-clocked 9700. Not really all that much difference.

Hell, why are you upgrading? Is there a game you have that your system can't play nicely?

Wait for games that your 9700 can't handle, then upgrade... and for the next generation of cards, coming soon.

In the meantime, if you want more performance, try overclocking. You can probably squeeze 9700 PRO speeds very easily (which is equal to 9800 non-pro performance)
