Hi guys,

I have this old graphic card, and it's more than enough for what I need.

The problem is, when I turn on the PC, the card overheat when idle and the fan turns like crazy.

There is a bown capacitor, should be it the problem ? Can I change the capacitor or is it a hard thing ?

Solution
im surprised it works with a blown capacitor. Since it is an old card the thermal paste might be bad, so try wiping off the old paste and put a fresh dab on it. Replacing the capacitors is actually quite easy but you have to have a solder tool and solder equipment for that. Heres a video on how to replace the capacitor.

Because those cost money that the op may or may not have or want to spend. And IF your reply is "its only $90-$100", you donate the money to him then.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm going to change the capacitor, I can't find a capacitor with the exatcly specification in my city, but I found a similar capacitor at home.

The original capacitor is 820uf 2.5v, can I replace it with a 821uf 2.5v ?
