Ok, here a quick newbie question :)

(Hey, I just got "promoted frem stranger to newbie on this forum so shhhhh. :) )

I bought the Radeon 9800pro (sapphire) and they say to use their power extension cable to hook up the card as well as the HDD.
Now, since I have sata (power converter)I am thinking of leaving the HDD alone and hooking up the Radeon seperatly not using the extension cable. Am I right in my assumption that this is no problem and that the cable is only for my convinence and doesn't have to be used.

I know, silly question, but hey I like following direction to the letter :).

Also is it fine to use the extension cable and then at the HDD part hook it up to the converter, and then hook the converter to the HDD. What is better, or is it the same?

Thanks
