ATI Radeon x1600 PCI

Does ANYBODY know where I can find a x1600 'PCI' card?

I have been searching for over a week with now luck. I already have a x1600 PCIe dual card filling up my one and only PCIe slot and I need to add another monitor. And undortunately Vista seems to require that all cards to use the exact same drivers.

Any help would be apprectiated.

No such card exitst. What model of 1600 do you have that it does not have a second video output for the second monitor? Or are you running 2 already?

You should be able to run any other Radeon card in the PCI slot also. You may need to use the same drivers, but the drivers should be able to support older PCI cards as well.

Thanks for the reply. I have a dual dvi output card with both adapted to vga installed. The onboard graphics card is disabled due to Vista. Here is info about it:

Compaq Presario SR1717
Windows Vista 32-bit
Radeon X1600 PCIe Series (S/N:260620074671, PN:102A6712400 000003)
NOTE: The Serial Number appears to be a preinstalled HP OEM variant of the Radeon X1600 PCIe with HP Driver Version: 8.500.0.0, 5/14/2008 <--Per ATI

I also had come to the conclusion that there was never a x1600 PCI manufactured, however when I emailed ATI asking for a card that would best work with the x1600 driver they said the x1600 PCI. I thought that maybe I was missing something, so I did a bunch more searching, and then ended up posting here.

ATI also said if I couldn't find an x1600 PCI, is should replace the x1600 dual PCIe with a x1550 dual PCIe or a x1300 dual PCIe and then add a x1550 PCI or a x1300 PCI respectively to get the third monitor capability.

Sorry if there is any naiveness to my thoughts/questions.

I think whoever you contacted mistook 1600 PCIe for a PCI. Info you get is often dependant on who you speak to.

If you look at their site, there is only a PCIe and a AGP bridged version of that card.

I'd try one of the ebay x1550 PCI cards, it should work with the x1600 you have. Don't see why you'd need to replace the x1600 to get the 1550 to work.
