I am considering buying the
ATI Radeon X1800 XT PCI Express 512MB DDR3 Video Card w/HDTV-Out, Dual DVI & VIVO

However I am not ready to buy the 24" DELL LCD monitor that I eventually want.

I was wondering if it was possible to use this video card with an adapter to still use my existing VGA 15" LCD Monitor

I Notice all of the spec say it is Dual DVI-I. Does that mean that is does not support VGA or just that A VGA connector is not included?

If you go over to newegg and look, you should see that it comes with an adapter that you screw on so you can use the monitor you have.

However, it may be possible that your monitor is so old that hooking it up to a more modern video card could "fry" it for good.

I had an old hand-me-down computer and monitor, I became friends with someone who got into building customs, and he put one together for me and I hooked it up and monitor went by-by...... Just tyin ta scare ya..........hahaha, .........but it did happen

I guess that VGA connectors are a thing of the past on new gcards. Seems that dual DVI connectors are here for good, and yes, like Swifty said - the DVI connectors have DVI to VGA converters/adapters that will allow you to use it with a VGA screen.
