Hi! I just purchased an ATI 9600XT card. Once i installed the drivers and rebooted the system, i noticed that the SMARTGART AGP setting is set to:
Set AGP Speed: Off
Fast Write: Off

I tried to set the AGP Speed to 8x and when I rebooted the system, it goes back to Off. Is that normal? Does this mean i'm not running my card at optimal speed? How do i make it stay at 8x?
Im using ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard with AthlonXP 2600+ CPU.

Thanks.

I had a similar problem, but it fixed itself after a few reboots.
try killing old ATi drivers and installing the latest. Also see u have updates/service packs and latest directx.

Got into you mobo BIOS and make sure agp fastwrite is enabled. Also in there, ajust the AGP bus to 8x and not auto.
