I am recently on the search to buy a new monitor or monitor setup for both gaming and workstation usage. It will be hooked up to an Nvidia GTX 980 graphics card on a personal gaming rig / workstation desktop.
1. What Is Your Country Of Origin?
United States of America
2. What do you plan to do with this monitor? (ex. Games, Movie Watching, Photo Editing, etc.)
Gaming, occasional photo editing, work (word, excel, simple programs, etc.)
3. What resolution and screen size do you want?
Minimum of 1920x1080p, minimum of 23" if multi monitor display or minimum of 27" for single display.
4. What refresh rate do you want? (ex. 60 hz , 70 hz.)
>60Hz (for games)
5. How much are you looking to spend?
$800 USD maximum
6. Brands Preferred (ex. Samsung, Acer, Asus, AOC, HP, Viewsonic, etc. )
Prefer AOC, Asus, LG, Viewsonic, Samsung, and Lenovo, but willing to consider others with good reputations.
7. Brands Not Preferred (state reason why)
N/A, as long as brand is reliable and known for performance.
8. Are You Buying More Than One Monitor?
Yes/no. Depends on recommendations from fellow Tomshardware users. Possibility of multi-monitor display, but acceptable single monitor display setup.
9. How Many Displays Can Your GPU Support Maximum? And what GPU and driver version are you using if applicable?
EVGA GTX 980 in SLI configuration.
10. What Port Do You Want To Connect To (ex. DVI-D, HDMI, etc).
Able to connect any adapter. I currently have adapters for each.
11. Is This Monitor A Primary Display Or A Secondary Display?
Primary display for desktop.
12. Is This A Secondary Display For A Laptop?
No to extremely rarely.
