US confirms that rocket may have been failure. Disassembled mid flight. UN later to talk Friday about North Korea response.

You actually followed it? I didn't expect it to work at all... kind of like all of their other long range rockets.

Apparently, they launched a short-ranged missile in response to their failure...possibly to show 'strength' and capability.
