Hello,

Is this system ok with my 650w PSU I keep having doubts it's enough power??

Also my mobo and PSU listed below have connectors for ATX 24-pin AND ATX 12v 8-pin should I use both of these?

and last of all does this graphics card just connect to the mobo then the PCI-E cable from the PSU?

Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme 6
Processor: Intel i5 4760k
GPU: Toxic R9 280x
SSD: Samsung Evo 840 250GB
RAM: 8GB Kingston Hyperx genesis (2x4GB)
Cooler: Phantek PHTC14PE
PSU: XFX XXX 650w

sorry if i'm being a noob here but it's my first build.

Thanks

That power supply should be enough. Your system should not use much more than 400-450w probably less, but it's good to keep enough in reserve.
(EDIT: If you saw recommendation for 750W or so for that GPU reason is that manufacturer of card have no idea what kind of PSU you have you can get some low end 600-650W which won't be able to support that card on multi rail or so. But your PSU got 52A on 12V rail and your card use only something around 20-21A + rest of system but that PSU should handle it without problems).

You need to connect both 24pin and 8pin. 24 pin is main power for motherboard. 8 pin is power for CPU.

About GPU, yes you put your GPU into PCI-E slot and plug 2x 6+2 connectors to card and psu.
