I'm putting together parts for my future build, which will be:
Ryzen 9900X3d
Corcair Vengeance DDR5 CL30 64GB Kit
1 TB NVME for the OS
RTX 5080, possibly an AMD 7090XT
I was planning on using this Seasonic PSU (link below) but then I noticed it has an ATX 3.0 variant. Looking into it further it appears it employs the latest 16pin connector(s) for the RTX 5080 and 5090 GPU's. My question is, do I need an ATX 3.0 PSU? They are more expensive than a non ATX 3.0
Also, there's an ATX 3.1 PSU and I could not figure out what the difference is between that and an ATX 3.0 PSU. Hopefully some of you can help me understand the differences and if I can use my first choice of the non ATX 3.0 Seasonic because they make excellent PSU's and it's $175 for the non ATX 3.0 vs $299 for the ATX 3.0 version.
